An ancient French tradition where the lavender flowers are collected around themselves with a braided ribbon to create a decorative and fragrant bouquet. It is thought to be the origin of the potpurri which was used to place in linen closets and in lingerie drawers, however, as they are so decorative I would not hide them in a drawer.
